Huntin'

Being alone in the outdoors, nothing but you and the wild game. You gotta love it, I do.

Do you know about the wildlife conservationists groups? Well if you love to hunt, you should get to know these groups. I am a member of DU (Ducks Unlimited), NWTF (National Wild Turkey Federation), and B.A.S.S. Not only do these good conservationists groups preserve the outdoors for future generations, but they are fun to be in! All these groups I am a member of have a magazine that goes out every month or so. You also get window decals for your car or truck. If your interested I'll give you the websites for the sites.

  Duck Huntin'

My favorite game to hunt I'd say would be ducks. I love to hear 'em quackin' and cuppin' into the decoys. There is no moment as awesome as when those greenheads are locked up and workin' around your blind. Duck populations have dropped sharply over the past decade so groups like DU are greatly appreciated. We lose thousands of acres of wetlands a year in which many ducks call those home. So, please join DU and support their efforts. There website is: www.ducks.org (and if they ask who told you to join tell them I sent you).

  Turkey

After duck season there is always turkey season. Whenever I have a bad duck season I try and rebound in turkey. Seeing those big gobblers when your out there huntin' 'em just makes you shake (sort of like "Buck Fever"). I remember my first turkey I killed. I was about 11 years old. It was just about 15 minutes after sunrise. We (me and my dad) had heard the gobblers in the trees. When they came off roost nothing but Jakes came our way. Well, I shot the closest one. I was the happiest boy alive then. NWTF website is: www.nwtf.com

  Fishin'

I like to fish whether if it's at night or during the day on a saturday afternoon. My favorite fish to fish for would have to be the Smallmouth Bass. I love to just go home from work and hop in my creek and go fishin'. Crappie season is another fun time. We make a weekend trip up to Kentucky Lake to go Crappie fishin' in the spring around April or so. Then, of course, there's the Largemouth Bass. That's usually what everyone is after but I usually don't fish too much for the Largemouth Bass. But still, no matter what we still need to conserve the wild outdoors for the next generation like me or my children (when I get them in about 15 years). To become a member of B.A.S.S. go to this website: www.bassmaster.com (remember: if they ask if someone suggested this organization tell them I did).
